Hi classmates, how are you?
This blog is to talk about euthanasia or assisted death. A topic that demonstrates how Chile is falling behind compared to other countries for not having a law of euthanasia that makes it legal.
Euthanasia is done in situations where a person loses the wish to live. Generally, it happens when people with terminal or incurable disease manifest their choice to die quickly and end their suffering
But there are other situations that require reflection on the need to create a law of euthanasia.
In our society there are more people who lose the desire to live. For example there is the case of a couple of elderly people who committed suicide to avoid being a burden, for having insufficient money to live and be alone, abandoned by their family.
In the same way there are the people with depression who although they attend by psicologist or have a support net such as family or friends, don't have wishes to live.
Given these points, I think it is clear that I support legal euthanasia and a law because the individual will of each person must be respected, even if he wishes to die. But i open the discussion in these other two cases, i'ts necessary to give the right to have an assisted death to anyone who decides to end his life?
I read your comments, regards!

For me, it's a sensitive topic because several years ago my grandfather was kept alive against his will agonizing for months until he died. This situation makes me believe that we must respect the will of sick people and we must recognize assisted death as dignified and also as a human right.
